The Hanayuzu , Citrus hanayu, is a similar species of Yuzu that is also called “Issai Yuzu” (One Year Yuzu) and “Tokoyu.”
The fruit is usually smaller around 50g and the peel is thinner. It has less aroma than standard Yuzu but is commonly used in clear soup osuimono. It is also widely used as a condiment for aroma.
The flower of this species is also used for fragrance due to its strong aroma.
